The maintenance agreement below has been essential for greater success, as it helps more clearly lay out expectations, needs, and commitment—which is then recorded with the city permit.
Prior to having such a maintenance agreement, the Dunbar/Spring Neighborhood Forest experienced a number of problems where plantings were done without such an agreement, and many of those plantings were abandoned or even destroyed.
With the maintenance agreement in place, stewardship of the plantings has significantly improved. While Neighborhood Foresters workshops and Work & Learn stewarding parties have improved the quality of that stewardship.
Feel free to use and/or adapt the maintenance agreement for your neighborhood’s forestry work. (And check back as we tend to evolve it each year).
NOTE: We are currently revising our maintenance/stewarding agreement.
Once revised, we will post it.
Please check back.
