Sunday morning volunteer stewarding/work parties in Dunbar/Spring neighborhood
WHEN: Meet 5:30am. Finish by 9am
WHERE: We meet at 813 N. 9th Ave to gather tools, then we walk to that morning’s work site(s)
Work can vary from pruning to weeding to seeding to creating water-harvesting earthworks to planting native plants to picking up garbage. Varies from week to week.
Focus is to work and get things done. This is hands-on work. We’ll teach you techniques if you don’t know them. Then you can teach others as you gain knowledge and experience.
Bring water.
NOTE: Sunday, August 23, we will plant native plants in and around the water-harvesting traffic-calming chicane on 9th Ave between 2nd Street and 1st Street.
After that we may expand water-harvesting basins and plant some native plants with neighbor Rafael in the public right of way by his place at 834 N. 9th Ave
